This edition of our Sonoma Valley Pinot, typically the lightest of our pinots, shows an uncharacteristic darker color and opens with delicate aromas of flowers and slightly under-ripe cherries. Rose and lilac entice you to keep sniffing. Cherry, followed by a bit of sage and brambly berry with vanilla begs you to take a sip. In the mouth, more red fruit, sour cherry, strawberry, cranberry accented with orange zest, cedar, and sassafras. There are tannins here, not in the extreme, however enough to provide a very comforting and dry finish that will make this wine pair nicely with red meats or roasted poultry.
