2016 La Colina Chardonnay

The 2016 bottling is the second vintage of La Colina Chardonnay. It is crafted from fruit that is grown on the slope in front of the winery. Similar to Cuvee Natalie, this wine is barrel-fermented, aged for 20 months and bottled unfiltered. The wine is clear, light gold to straw yellow in color. The nose has a blend of flowers and fruit with a touch of vanilla. The scent of white flowers like honeysuckle is accented by fruit aromas of lemon, pear, starfruit and honeydew melon. The first sip has sweet flavors of pear and apricot balanced by tart flavors of green apple and kiwi fruit. The texture is a fine balance of creaminess with minerality and a touch of salt. The finish lingers with a lemon crème caramel flavor.
