2016 Gulrajani Narasimha
A lush ruby color in the glass, the first aromas are at once juicy with fruit – ripe cherry, raspberry, candied plum and currant – and spice – nutmeg, bay leaf, juniper berries and lavender – with subtle hints of driftwood and road tar. Ample time in barrel and bottle has created a very soft landing on the palate, with smooth flavors of cherry, plum, dark currant, and then contrasting savory notes of cedar, tobacco, and cocoa powder. The phrase “easy drinking” may come to mind. Easier still to drink paired with something earthy, perhaps your best take on lamb stew.
