2016 Cactus Hill Estate Pinot Noir
The 2016 Cactus Hill Pinot Noir exemplifies the Nicholson Ranch terroir with floral, spice and fruit aromas. The bouquet has aromas of rose and lavender and a potpourri of vanilla, cinnamon, cedar, fennel and orange rind. There is a whiff of cherry and chocolate in the aroma which follow through on the palate. The wine has intense flavors of dark cherry and raspberry spiced with clove, nutmeg and sassafras. Lighter fruit flavors of pomegranate and richer flavors of blackberry accent the palate. The wine is balanced from the first sip to the mid palate through the finish. The texture is smooth with the acidity and tannins extending the finish in flavor and texture.
